Recipe Ideas For Your #End of Summer Dinners!
Summer is said to officially end on Labor Day.
Yeah. As soon as I saw the school buses on the road again two weeks ago, I had to sigh.
School buses signify back to the everyday grind until that short break in December.
It’s still warm and sunny until 8pm so why not still enjoy on of the best things about the season?
No, not the beach. Eating!
Still time to chow down on fresh fruit, grilled veggies, and tropical drinks.
Which brings me to the topic of the day: The Recipe round-up!
You may be familiar with my previous roundups on meal prep and budget meals
So today I bring you 15 recipes that covers the bases of gluten-free, omnivore, vegan, & pescatarian.
Let’s get started.
#END OF SUMMER DRINKS
Jaimie’s non alcoholic fresh and fruity (Isn’t that the name of a pancake?) Sangria at lovebakesgoodcakes.com is up first.
Loaded with fresh fruit, an option to make it less sweet, and safe for the under 21’s; it’s easily better than soda.
Next is Amanda of The Chunky Chef
The Fizzy Pineapple Punch has a tropical flavor to it and can be ‘added to’ for the adults.
THE MAIN EVENT: PROTEINS
For the vegans at the cookout, is a grilled cauliflower steak with a garlicky green goddess sauce.
This recipe is by Julie at Running In A Skirt, and the sauce can be made vegan by subbing a plant-based milk.
You may recall from my meal prep post the chicken burrito bowl by Jen from Carlsbad Cravings.
This time around, check out her grilled pineapple bbq chicken complete with a fresh pineapple sauce.
Moving on to pork, is a recipe from Steph, Kendra, Lauren, Elyse, Kristen, and Camille aka Six Sisters Stuff.
A grilled, simple pork chop that saves time by utilizing Italian dressing.
For the pesctarians, there is a grilled salmon by Sarah of Whole And Heavenly Oven that is marinated in tandoori.
Last but not least is a recipe by High Heels And Grills Zach and Sarah with their Teriyaki beef skewers.
THE SIDE EVENT
What is a summer without side dishes? Krista’s grilled sweet potatoes gives you salty and sweet with bacon and honey mustard.
Next, is a crunchy and refreshing side dish by Pam of For The Love Of Cooking complete with summer tomatoes and corn.
THE DRESS-UP: SAUCES
While nothing is wrong with eating your grilled proteins nekkid, 😉 Chrissy’s blueberry bbq sauce may change you mind.
Continuing in the vein of fruit based bbq sauces, is Caroline’s spicy Cherry BBQ sauce which can be made boozy too!
Krista makes the list again with her smoky raspberry chipotle sauce that I bet would pair well with chicken or fish.
THE PIECE de RESISTANCE – AKA DESSERT!
Finally, to round out the meals we have desserts!
First on the desert list is Sharon of Grits & Pinecones meyer lemon ice cream..did I mention it’s no cook?
Second up, is Kelly’s no bake Strawberry Cheesecake Icebox Cake. It’s too hot to turn on an oven, see a theme here?? 🙂
You may though want to turn on the oven just for a little bit to make this vegan tart by Jackie. It’s worth the 25 minutes.
An Honorable mention for my Gluten Free tribe, is Sue’s flourless lemon cake made with almond meal and has a nice lemony icing on top.
There you have it readers! A collection of 15 + 1 easy recipes that got you covered for Vegans, Pescatarians, Omnivores, Vegetarians, Gluten free and maybe anything in between(?)
